In June, the Biden Administration announced the creation of a program which will allow people without immigration status to apply for Parole in Place if they are married to a U.S. citizen and have lived in the United States for at least ten years. Those who benefit will be eligible for work permits and should generally become eligible to apply for their green card here in the United States, without any need to leave the country or to apply for an unlawful presence waiver.
The White House has now announced that people will be able to apply beginning on August 19, 2024. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) still has not released details on the application process.
