Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Immigration Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support our attorneys in managing a diverse caseload. This role provides significant hands-on experience and the opportunity to develop advanced skills in immigration law. The position involves direct client interaction, case preparation, and managing filings across a range of matters, including family-based immigration and removal defense. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in Spanish is required, as this role involves direct communication with Spanish-speaking clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in preparing and filing immigration applications, petitions, waivers, and court filings
  • Communicate directly with clients in Spanish and English to gather information and provide case updates
  • Prepare and accurately complete immigration forms for attorney review
  • Draft correspondence and supporting documents for attorney approval
  • Organize and maintain client files with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Track case progress, monitor deadlines, and ensure timely filings
  • Compile and review supporting documentation for completeness and quality

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Fluent in Spanish (written and verbal), with the ability to communicate directly with clients without supervision
  • 0–2 years of experience in a legal or professional office setting preferred (immigration experience a plus; training provided)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality work
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working with sensitive and often emotional client matters
  • Experience with case management systems or legal software is a plus (training provided)

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary range: $52,000 – $62,000 (based on experience)
