Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Business Immigration Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support our attorneys on business immigration matters. This role covers a wide range of employer-sponsored immigration work, including nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions, employer compliance, and federal litigation, for clients ranging from startups to multinational companies. A paralegal certificate is not required — we welcome candidates with a bachelor’s degree and strong organizational skills, whether you identify as a legal assistant or a paralegal. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys across the full range of business immigration matters, including H-1B, H-2B, L, E, O, P, R, TN, NIW, EB-1, PERM, I-140, and Adjustment of Status.
  • Assist with employer compliance matters, including worksite enforcement and I-9 compliance issues.
  • Gather, organize, and compile supporting documentation for petitions, applications, and filings.
  • Prepare and input information into immigration forms for attorney review.
  • Draft letters and supporting documents for attorney review, including responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs) and Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs).
  • Monitor case deadlines, track filing statuses, and proactively flag issues.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and confidential client files in eIMMIGRATION.
  • Communicate professionally with corporate clients, HR contacts, and government agencies as needed.
  • Support federal litigation matters as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (no paralegal certificate required).
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Database and calendar management skills.
  • Positive, energetic, and proactive attitude.

Preferred

  • Prior experience as a business immigration paralegal or legal assistant, with exposure to H-1B, H-2B, E-2, E-3, O-1, L-1, TN, PERM, EB-1 Outstanding Researcher, I-140, I-130, or I-485 matters.
  • Experience with eIMMIGRATION or similar case management software (training provided).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $50,000 – $70,000 (based on experience).
