USCIS Implements Fee Increase for H-1B and L-1 Visas

A United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”) press release confirms the immediately effective increase in fees for certain H-1B and L-1 visas in accordance with Public Law 111-230.  Additional fees of $2,000.00 and $2,250.00 for H-1B and L-1 visas respectively are now required for petitioning companies of 50 or more employees that have over 50{b6b8f04f7bd4b863c4cfed8339fd19419bda3e071c79bc5ac8c810cb9c52e30f} of their employees in the United States in H-1B, L-1A or L-1B status.  Such additional fees must be paid by the petitioning company and not by the beneficiary.  Although USCIS has not yet released new application forms reflecting these fee increases, it expects to do so shortly.
