Partner

Zachary R. New is a Partner at Joseph & Hall, where his practice focuses on employment-based immigration and federal litigation.  At Joseph & Hall, he’s worked on large scale immigration litigation ranging from class and mass-actions to individual lawsuits for companies and individuals who have received improper treatment by the immigration agencies.  His employment-based practice covers all areas of the business-immigration world, from temporary work visas for companies, to start-ups, to individuals of extraordinary ability, and more.  Through Joseph & Hall, he is a member of IMMPact Litigation, an award winning band of lawyers and law firms dedicated to bring large-scale impact litigation.

Mr. New has worked on the representation of clients at the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Administrative Appeals Office (AAO), the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and various Federal courts, both at the district court and appellate levels.

Mr. New writes academically on changes in immigration law, and the effects of these changes on immigrants, and his works have been published in such law journals as the University of Southern California (USC) Gould School of Law’s Interdisciplinary Law Journal and the Yale Law Journal Forum. He enjoys speaking on broad policy issues related to immigration and advocating to bring lasting change to systemic problems in the immigration system. In his practice he especially enjoys working with individuals and employers to bring lawsuits in Federal Court over erroneous denials, delayed adjudications, and unlawful policies.

In his free time, Mr. New enjoys spending time with his family, going on long road trips with his wife, and volunteering at local animal rescues.
