Biography

Ryland Warner is a graduate of University of Colorado Law School. During his time at Colorado Law, Mr. Warner acted as a Student Bar Association Representative for the Immigration Law and Policy Society advocating on behalf of the organization’s interests in immigrant rights. Mr. Warner also acted as a student attorney in Colorado Law’s Criminal and Immigration Defense Law Clinic providing legal services for DREAMers and low-income clientele.

When the Office of Refugee Resettlement issued a Survivors of Torture Program grant to the International Rescue Committee office in Denver, CO, Mr. Warner worked full time to get the legal program up and running. While there, Mr. Warner provided legal services for asylum-seekers and refugees, securing employment statuses and immigration benefits. Mr. Warner previously worked in the Denver City Attorney’s Office, representing Denver in national briefings on the new presidential administration’s immigration policy and legislation priorities. At the City Attorney’s Office, Mr. Warner also represented city clients in Denver County Court and Denver District Court.

Mr. Warner’s passion for immigration stems from his family’s own path into the United States, Mexican immigrants who helped found the city of Tucson after the United States purchased the southern portion of Arizona from Mexico in the mid-1800’s. Generations later, immigration still holds an important role in Mr. Warner’s family as he grew up with relatives from Central and South America. Mr. Warner’s appreciation for immigrant communities extended beyond his own family as he grew up in the diversity of Aurora, CO. This lifelong exposure to the strengths of diversity culminated in Mr. Warner dedicating his career to helping immigrants navigate the legal system.

During his free time, Mr. Warner enjoys reading science fiction and fantasy novels, getting away to a quiet spot in the mountains, and playing video games.
